Inquiry Action

As part of our Inquiry this term we have researched what Dinosaurs and people need to survive. We found out that if all the plants and trees disappeared that we would all die.

Room 21 want to maintain our environment so that we will all survive and we decided to grow some plants to help the environment. 

Brachiosaurus

Today a big group of Brachiosaurus popped into to Room 21

Athletics Rotation

This term the Year 1 and 2 area are having a few weeks of Athletics.

Today we got to try out high jump.

Weetbix Slice

Yum, Yum, Yum!!!!!
Today at Discovery we got to make some yummy weetbix slice.
It was easy to make and very tasty.

Ingredients

150g butter, melted
4 Weetbix (crushed)
1/2 Cup Chelsea White Sugar
1 cup flour
1 Tbsp cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1 drop Vanilla essence

Icing
1 1/2 cups Chelsea Icing Sugar
1/2 cup coconut
1 tsp cocoa
25g butter
hot water to mix

Method

Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl, making a well.
Then add melted butter and vanilla essence.
Mix together, then press into a slice tin.
Bake at 180°C for 10 mins only.
Ice while hot, and cut into squares.

Icing
Put first three ingredients into a bowl, add the butter.
Gradually add enough hot water to melt butter; blend ingredients.

Spread over slice while hot then cut into squares once cooled a little.

Trip to Te Papa

What a great day!!!! We caught the bus in to Wellington to see the Tyrannosaurs exhibition at Te Papa.
